Breza Terms of Use

Last updated: [effective date]

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Breza ("we", "us") about the Breza mobile app. By using Breza you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

Breza is not medical advice

Read this part even if you skip the rest.

In an emergency, do not use this app. Call your local emergency number, or go to your nearest emergency department. The app's crisis screen links to international helpline directories, and those directories are the fastest route to a person who can talk to you now. Those links are third-party services and we do not control what they offer.

Who can use Breza

You must be 18 or older to use Breza. If you are under 18, please do not use it, and please talk to someone you trust about finding age-appropriate support.

[verify] The app does not currently ask your age. Make sure this clause, the store content ratings, and the target-audience declarations agree with each other.

Your account, or the lack of one

There is no account. You do not register, and you do not give us a name, an email, or a password. Your data lives on your device.

That means two things you should understand before relying on the app:

Breza Plus

Breza is free to use. The core of recovery tracking stays free, always. Breza Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features.

[verify] Confirm the deployed prices, the trial length on each base plan, and the product ids in the store consoles before publishing. The app deliberately reads all of this from the store, so nothing here should be hard-coded from memory.

Cloud backup (Plus)

Breza Plus can optionally keep an encrypted backup of your data on our server, so a new phone can restore it. What is stored and who can read it is in the Privacy Policy (d); this section is the terms of using it.

The referral programme

If we are running the referral programme:

Sharing a code shares only the code. It says nothing about your recovery, and the person you share with learns nothing about your use of the app.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

We can stop serving the companion or the referral service to an install that does these things. Your on-device data stays yours either way, and we cannot reach into your device to remove anything.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, its code, its text, and its artwork belong to us, and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use, not sold. Third-party open-source components are used under their own licences. [verify] If you ship an open-source licence list in the app or in the repo, point at it here.

Your content stays yours

Everything you write in Breza is yours. We claim no ownership of and no licence to your journal entries, notes, or conversations.

We cannot read them. They are on your device. The only exception is the material you send to the AI companion after giving consent, and that is processed to generate a reply and not stored by our service. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent.

Availability

Breza's on-device features work offline and keep working whether or not our servers do. The companion, the referral service, and remote configuration need a network and may be unavailable, slow, rate-limited, or discontinued. We do not promise uptime for them. We can change or remove features, and we will avoid doing that to anything a person in a craving depends on.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, Breza is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular outcome for your recovery.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost opportunity, arising out of your use of Breza. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Breza in the 12 months before the claim, or [liability cap amount] if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

[verify] Flagged for jurisdiction review. Disclaimers and liability caps are read very differently in different countries. Consumer law in the EU, the UK, and Australia in particular restricts what these two sections can exclude, and a health-adjacent app is a poor place to over-reach. Have a lawyer rewrite both sections for the markets you actually ship to, and check whether a consumer-rights clause is required.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [governing law jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law rules. [verify] Add the venue and any consumer carve-out your lawyer advises. If you ship in the EU, note that consumers keep the protections of their home country's law regardless of this clause.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will surface it in the app rather than only here. Continuing to use Breza after a change means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
